Requirement for accreditation as an Authorized Agency

An entity may be accredited as an Authorized Agency if it meets the following requirements:

  • 1. It shall be rated at B level or above by an operator of credit information businesses as defined in Article 2 of the Use and Protection of Credit Information Act;
  • 2. It shall have a network connected to the internet by means of a designated T1 level or above line; and
  • 3. It shall be issued with a certification of the Security Check on Information Protection, so as to demonstrate that it has completed the performance of the protection guidelines on information and communication networks and information in accordance with Article 45 (2) of the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc.

Accreditation Process

An Authorized Agency is accredited by the following process:

  1. 1. Public Notice
  2. 2. Payment of Application Fee
  3. 3. Submission of Application
  4. 4. Verification of the Submitted Application
  5. 5. Notice of Results
  6. 6. Execution of Agreement
  1. 1. Public Notice for Authorized Agency Accreditation

    Public Notice of the application period for accreditation of Authorized Agencies will be made at lease once per year.

  2. 2. Payment of Application Fee

    Application Fee: KRW 1,100,000 including VAT (A tax statement will be issued. This fee shall be paid by wire transfer.)

    • The name of the entity applying for accreditation shall be mentioned as the funds transferor.
  3. 3. Submission of Application and Required Documents

      ※ The list of the operators of credit information businesses may be searched at ‘the list of the operators of credit information businesses’ on the website of the Financial Supervisory Service (fss.or.kr).
    • 6. Certificate of Payment of Fee (by deposit)
    • 7. Miscellaneous documents
      • 1) A certified copy of business registration certificate
      • 2) A Transcript of Commercial Registry
      • 3) A Certificate of Corporate Seal
      • 4) An application for use of the business seal (if different from the Corporate Seal)
      • 5) A certificateof the complete payment of national or local taxes
  4. 4. Verification of Submitted Applications
  5. 5. Notice of Results

    Results will be notified by telephone or email.

  6. 6. Performance Guarantee and Execution of Agreement
    • 1) Performance Bond - KRW 50,000,000

      (the Performance Bond shall not bear value added tax, so no tax statement will be issued.)

      • Time of Payment: The Performance Bond shall be paid in full before entering into a Authorized Agency agreement(by wire transfer).
      • When entering into a registration agency agreement, the applicant shall submit a statement of deposit for the payment of the guarantee.
    • 2) Guarantee - When entering into the agreement, the applicant shall submit a performance bond or a payment guaranteefrom a financial institute subject to the Banking Act.
  7. 7. Notes

    An Authorized Agencyshall have at least five (5) employees engaged to perform the registration services at any one time, and shall commence the registration services within three (3) months of accreditation, where failure to do which may result in the cancellation of accreditation status.
